'Threads of Caring' - A History of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children (1858-2020)
The history presented in this book is an attempt to record the deeds and stories of the people who laid the foundations of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children. The project started by commissioning Tapestries in 2016 to complete oral interviews with 18 key individuals.
Co-authors Ruth Greenaway and Megan Hutching have taken these interviews and archival research and created a high-quality chronicled history. They have also been able to tell a story that blends the changing activities of the Trust and placed them in context with the changing societal attitudes and government policies across three different centuries. Klára Rudolfy was born in 1910. She remembered as a four-year-old when the men in her family left home to fight in the First World War. As a young woman establishing a career as a journalist, Klára met her soul mate Steve; they married and had children before the onset of World War II. Klára lived through immense changes in 20th Century Europe. This compilation of stories and reflections on life traverses a rich period of Central European history from a personal perspective.
Some of her amazing stories are told in this book, reproduced by Ruth Greenaway from her own writings later in life. This book now serves as a gift to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the youngest of whom she never met.(Fruzi Kerridge - Client)

For Auckland North Community and Development Inc (ANCAD) Ruth interviewed community leaders on Auckland's North Shore in 2014 after ANCAD celebrated its 40th AGM. A total of 54 stories are documented in this publication.
Ruth’s oral history expertise and my photographic experience were excellent combinations for what turned out to be a huge project. Ruth’s enthusiasm for history and community development and her ability to cross-reference and notice important observations were a winning combination. Working with Ruth on this book was a privilege and a pleasure, and her kindness towards people, combined with a love for storytelling, shone through. (Yvonne Powely, CEO - ANCAD). Women Scientists – In the field of Mycology: ORAL HISTORY PROJECT (2017-18)
Tapestries were commissioned by Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) to interview four women mycologists who study New Zealand fungi. Mycology is the branch of biology concerned with studying fungi, including their genetic and biochemical properties, taxonomy and use by humans as a source of tinder, traditional medicine, food, and entheogens. There are reportedly 6,500 species of fungi identified in Aotearoa/ New Zealand to date. This project was awarded a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage Oral History awards. Multiple Sclerosis Auckland Society 30th ANNIVERSARY HISTORY PROJECT (2016)
To mark the 30th Anniversary of MS Auckland, Tapestries was commissioned to record 15 oral history interviews and to prepare material for an interactive website exhibition, including video, audio, podcasts, images, archival material and written text and historical photos. The New Zealand Lotteries Commission funded this project.
