Women Scientists – In the field of Mycology:
ORAL HISTORY PROJECT (2017-18)
Tapestries were commissioned by Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) to interview four women mycologists who study New Zealand fungi. Mycology is the branch of biology concerned with studying fungi, including their genetic and biochemical properties, taxonomy and use by humans as a source of tinder, traditional medicine, food, and entheogens. There are reportedly 6,500 species of fungi identified in Aotearoa/ New Zealand to date. This project was awarded a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage Oral History awards. Multiple Sclerosis Auckland Society
30th ANNIVERSARY HISTORY PROJECT (2016)
To mark the 30th Anniversary of MS Auckland, Tapestries was commissioned to record 15 oral history interviews and to prepare material for an interactive website exhibition, including video, audio, podcasts, images, archival material and written text and historical photos. The New Zealand Lotteries Commission funded this project.

Jewish On-line Museum (JOM)
Tapestries was commissioned to oversee the editing of oral history interviews for podcasting on this website, producing original thematic ‘sound-scapes’, writing content and curating online exhibitions for JOM.
Ruth created a project which focussed on the stories of Holocaust survivors who came to New Zealand as either young children or teenagers. 'This was a very moving piece of work to be involved with.'
